10 Actors That Aren't Nearly As Well-Known As They Should Be

5. Audrey Tautou

Amelie Not since The Da Vinci Code (2006) has Audrey Tautou appeared in anything close to a Hollywood blockbuster - she prefers to remain safe in the strictly French branches of cinema. But don't be put off by having to read actual words while you're trying to watch a film; almost all of Tautou's features are well worth squinting at the screen to try and skim-read the dialogue. What did that last bit say? Something about a photo booth with a weirdo taking his picture every day? Obviously first kudos go to Amelie (2001) for being both original and loveable; but as well as that there are other must-sees that don't get as much press as they probably should, like A Very Long Engagement (2004) and Priceless (2006), not to mention the internationally accessible Pot Luck (2002) in which she acts as just one member of a multi-national cast. Audrey's acting never even slightly dips in anything she's a part of; she manages to be both charming and unrelentingly interesting in almost every role, even in some difficult ones from movies that wouldn't nearly be as strong without her, for example the sometimes boring Thérèse (2012). She's also super-hot, which always helps.
