10 Actors Who Blew Their Big Chance Before They Got Going

4. Edward Furlong

Forget Avatar and Titanic, because Terminator 2: Judgment Day is easily the best film in James Cameron's repertoire, and Edward Furlong as a young John Connor is an integral part of that. Of course, the film has Linda Hamilton's dark Sarah Connor and Ahnold doing what Ahnold does best (i.e. playing up to his accent and punching people) but Furlong won himself a well-deserved Saturn Award for his performance. He took some roles in critically acclaimed indie films and American History X with Edward Norton, but Furlong's career was cut short by alcoholism and drug addiction. Now 36, he has admitted that his early twenties were spent addicted to cocaine and heroin, and roles subsequently dried up. He spent 2013 in rehab and is serving time for a probation violation after a string of domestic violence allegations.
