Though Anchorman 2 was ultimately a disappointment when compared to the original from nine years prior, easily the best moment was the abundance of cameo appearances when the news teams came together to brawl.

Among the likes of Liam Neeson, John C. Reilly, Jim Carrey, Marion Cotillard, Will Smith, and Harrison Ford, were Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The latter actually filmed a scene for the original movie before she was ever really well known, but it wound up on the cutting room floor.

It wasn't just Poehler's scene, but an entire plotline that didn't make it, wherein Veronica Corningstone was to be kidnapped by the Alarm Clock Gang only for Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and the news team to come together and save her. This was the original finale rather than the ultimate ending taking place at the zoo.

As part of the plotline that only made it into Wake Up, Ron Burgundy, a straight-to-DVD effort comprised of Anchorman's deleted scenes and outtakes, the gang (including Maya Rudolph) attempted to rob Amy Poehler's bank teller. Even at the time, Poehler knew the scene wouldn't make it, but she still managed to join the Anchorman family properly in the sequel as Wendy Van Peele of Entertainment Tonight.
