10 Actors Everybody Thinks Can Act… But Can’t

4. Mark Wahlberg

Okay, fair enough - if the role is suitable for Mark, he does have the tendency to do pretty well. But for every Lt Dignam, there's a high school science teacher waiting to... Happen (sorry). There are a sizable number of films where Wahlberg has been woefully miscast, and his poor acting ability comes to the fore; take a look at Broken City, The Lovely Bones, Max Payne, Rock Star, the afore-mentioned The Happening... Even in great films like The Departed where he doesn't do too badly, there's something about his line delivery that doesn't feel as natural when stood next to someone like Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio who, by comparison, make it look positively easy. He just doesn't come off like the performances come easy to him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzgdOzfMVwo
