10 Actors Fired From Harry Potter

Another part of the Hogwarts student body ensemble joins the mix now, with Gryffindor house member and Quidditch Chaser Katie Bell going through something of a metamorphosis after the second entry in the original Potter series.

In both The Philosopher's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets, Emily Dale was the talent tasked with keeping hold of the Bell reins, a character who forms a close friendship with fellow Chasers Alicia Spinnet and Angelina Johnson. Then, Bell was abruptly dumped from the part in the follow-up, only for an uncredited actor to takeover as Bell.

Finally, after going missing for two further flicks, Bell would make her triumphant return to big screen Hogwarts in The Half-Blood Prince, this time played by The Basil Brush Show's Georgina Leonidas. It was here when Bell was finally given some text to chew over on screen, with Leonidas still playing a rather small role in the overall story but at least boasting a terrifying beat where she became cursed by a necklace originally meant for Albus Dumbledore.

The studio clearly felt a more established name was required for Bell in these darker and more meatier instalments, so Dale and her replacement were ultimately nudged to the side for Leonidas.
