10 Actors From Classic Hollywood Who Could Have Played Superheroes

2. Superman/ Cary Grant

Super Grant The most recognizable superhero in the world, Superman blends nearly unlimited power with a strong sense of morality, a character who should be an inspiration for everyone. Cary Grant was so well-regarded by fans that he once quipped that "Everyone wants to be Cary Grant€”even I want to be Cary Grant." Throughout a career that included an improbable amount of classic films, Grant became one of the most legendary stars in the world and is often seen as the archetypal Hollywood leading man. He is primarily remembered for his looks, sense of humor, and class, all of which would help him in portraying Superman. He would have to lose his famous accent for the role, but overall his acting style seems to lend itself to playing a larger than life character such as Superman, and in addition he is also more than capable of playing the bumbling Clark Kent due to the numerous comedies he appeared in. In short, Cary Grant has pretty much everything thing you'd want in an actor attempting to portray Superman.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
