At one time seemingly poised to follow in the footsteps of an acclaimed actor like Meryl Streep, Hilary Swank used to be one of the most celebrated Hollywood figures. Already a two-time Oscar winner before she turned 22 years old, the Academy rewarded her work in both Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby. Then she landed the lead role in an Amelia Earhart biopic, which is exactly the kind of role that dramatic actors usually love to bite their teeth into.

At one time thought to be an opportunity to permanently affix a crown on Swank’s head, her biopic Amelia was decimated by critics and ignored by audiences.

Ultimately seen as a nail in the coffin of a once promising career, since that film was released she has only received one high profile role in a celebrated film, a supporting part in Logan Lucky. Still as talented as ever, if there isn’t anyone that deserves to get back into Hollywood circles more than Hilary Swank.
