10 Actors Who Just Can't Seem To Realise Their Full Potential
10. Lee Pace
In 2007, one could have made the argument that actor Lee Pace had indeed found his niche as Ned the Piemaker in ABC's quaint comedy, Pushing Daisies. The dialogue was witty, the plot was unique, and the characters were endearing, but that wasn't enough to keep the show on the air. When Pushing Daisies was given the axe after just two seasons, Pace seemed to drop off the proverbial map. While his number of roles were surprisingly steady in the following years, his performances were forgettable and left much to be desired. This was in no way due to a lack of talent, but instead a lack of opportunity to demonstrate his spectacular emotional range. From his portrayal of a disillusioned stuntman in Tarsem Singh's The Fall to his brief time as quirky and unassuming Ned, Lee Pace has shown time and time again that his acting ability is among the finest, yet his resume lacks the defining role that could give his career the boost that it deserves. While his interpretation of Elf-king Thranduil (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey & Desolation of Smaug) is enchanting and three-dimensional, such a role is not one that will allow Lee Pace to go down in acting history. We want a lead role that will showcase Pace's emotional mastery, and we want it now. Notable Roles: The Fall, Pushing Daisies, Soldiers Girl Next Seen In: Halt and Catch Fire, The Hobbit: There and Back Again
