3. Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy is one of those actors whose name is always tossed about when a huge role needs filling. He's been in just about every major franchise around in the past 20 years including Star Trek, Mad Max, and Batman.
He's played more than one comic book character as well with roles as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, and most recently, he played Eddie Brock, otherwise known as Venom in the Sony Pictures film of the same name. He's even been talked about to play the next James Bond, but more than that, he's been rumored to be the next Logan.
Hardy certainly has the gravitas to take on the role, but seeing as he is likely locked into playing Brock and Mad Max for the foreseeable future, it may prove too much to add portraying Marvel's deadliest X-Men into the mix.
Another issue that might keep Hardy from playing Wolverine is his age. He turned 41 in September 2018, and while that isn't old, it may prove too old for the part. Rumor has it, Disney and Marvel Studios are intent on casting someone around the same age Jackman was when he took the role at the age of 32.
