Despite being a Hollywood megastar, Tom Hardy never backs down from a challenge, and regularly takes on unique roles in his films. Having been in major movies for over two decades, Hardy’s ascension to main actor status after the success of 2008’s Bronson.

In the biopic of Britain’s most infamous inmate, Hardy had packed on over 20 pounds of solid muscle, shaved his head, and sported a thick moustache. Not only that, but the actor replicated the baritone voice of the robber, and displayed himself with much power and aggression. Tom Hardy excelled in several surreal scenes in the film, most notably the part where a naked Bronson forces a prison guard to cover his naked body in shoe polish.

Recently, the trailer for Hardy’s upcoming movie, Capone, has been released. In the eponymous role, Tom Hardy looks almost unrecognisable with a flabby paunch. From the trailer, it is apparent that the ageing Capone has descended into madness as he avoids the law. Far from the glamorous depictions of the infamous gangster in Speak-Easy’s, Hardy’s portrayal will apparently be more of a visceral portrayal. It definitely seems to come naturally to him.
