10 Actors Planning To Make Huge Comebacks
2. Kevin Spacey
With two Oscars to his name and a career's worth of unforgettable performances on screens big and small, Kevin Spacey is an undeniable titan of his acting generation. Though in October 2017 his career was irrevocably tarnished when credible sexual harassment allegations were levelled against him.
Spacey's career hit an obvious brick wall immediately: he was pulled from House of Cards' final season, Ridley Scott replaced him during post-production of All the Money in the World with Christopher Plummer, his completed Gore Vidal biopic was shelved, and his remaining 2018 release, Billionaire Boys Club, was quietly released to little interest.
Beyond posting his unsettling annual Christmas Eve YouTube videos, Spacey's kept an incredibly low-profile since his career flamed out, though it was just recently announced that the actor is currently filming his first post-scandal acting role.
Spacey will appear in the Italian crime drama The Man Who Drew God, as directed by Italian cinema legend Franco Nero. Though Nero's wife Vanessa Redgrave was originally stated to co-star opposite Spacey, she later issued a statement confirming she had no involvement with the film.
Even so, it seems incredibly unlikely that Hollywood will ever welcome Spacey back, and he'll probably spend the rest of his career - life, even - appearing in international productions which see scarce theatrical distribution worldwide.
