In the past year, its felt like you can barely look anywhere without seeing Chris Pratt, and its been so much fun to watch him rise. The actor has of course had his core role in Parks and Recreation, and has more recently been making a name for himself in the movie industry starring in Zero Dark Thirty, Her, and The Lego Movie. Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy is sure to see him embraced by even wider audiences as a leading man, giving him a franchise to work with for years to come. And thats something that could well be doubled by Jurassic World when it lands next summer. The world is his oyster, and one of his next steps is almost definitely going to be finding Oscar-buzzed projects to lead. Zero Dark Thirty had all the right elements, but everyones focus was on Jessica Chastain. With leading roles in two of the biggest blockbusters of this year and next, people are going to be talking about him more and more. The free publicity Stone would inevitably bank when every other article about Jurassic World mentioning Pratts upcoming role as Edward Snowden would be priceless. Theres no hiding in a project like this, with Snowden likely to be in almost every frame, and that would give Pratt a chance to win over the kind of critics that might overlook films like Guardians and Jurassic World. Hes a very talented actor who can work in a range of tones, and leading a dramatic thriller sure to be a slam dunk at the Oscars seems like the next logical string to add to his bow.
