10 Actors Who Could Play Edward Snowden In Oliver Stone's Movie

2. Steven Yeun

Like Anthony Mackie, Steven Yeun is obviously a colour-blind choice. The Korean American actor is beloved for his role as Glenn in The Walking Dead, one that has given him a wealth of experience in both the dramatic and thriller genres Stone is eyeing for this project. The show has seen him emerge as more and more of a leading character since its early days, and Yeun has proven himself capable time and time again. Best known for his work on the small screen, Yeun is making big moves in the world of feature films. He€™s soon to be seen in this summer€™s I Origins, and last month he announced he is executive producing and leading an adaptation of Kang Chol-Hwan€™s The Aquariums of Pyongyang. The project €“ part horror story, part memoir, part political tract, and part historical document €“ proves his eagerness to fire on all cylinders and work on both sides of the camera to bring important stories like this to wider audiences. Yeun undeniably serves as a model for minorities too, with even fewer Korean American (or other Asian American) actors known to mainstream audiences than there are African American stars. Giving him a role like Edward Snowden would equally be a bold message of hope for young actors and actresses of Far Eastern descent looking to enter the industry: It€™s the talent, which Yeun so clearly has, that matters above all else.
