10 Actors That Really Need To Stop Repeating Themselves
4. Bruce Willis
Formerly one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, Bruce Willis now finds himself mired in the same straight-to-video doldrums that Nicolas Cage has called home for the past few years. Willis' career has been on a downward trajectory for some time now, which may or may not have anything to do with his reputation for being increasingly difficult to work with but definitely has something to do with his recent habit of starring in entirely forgettable genre movies that nobody even watches.
As shown in Moonrise Kingdom and Looper, a motivated Bruce Willis can still give a great performance when he is genuinely interested, but that was five years ago. Since then, he's gone through the motions in sequels to Die Hard, G.I. Joe, RED, Sin City and The Expendables before ultimately being relegated to home video releases with bland titles like Extraction, Precious Cargo, Marauders and First Kill.
Eli Roth, director of the upcoming Death Wish remake, has said that the project can do for Willis' career what Taken did for Liam Neeson's. However, the most intriguing collaboration on the 62 year-old's schedule is M. Night Shyamalan's Glass. The writer/director has gotten great work from Willis before, so hopefully the actor puts some effort in because the last few years have seen him looking nothing but bored out of his skull in a series of repetitive genre flicks.
