10 Actors That You Never Knew Produced Horror Movies

Prufrock Pictures, the production company of 1990s romantic comedy superstar Meg Ryan, didn't have much output during its short life. One of the few films that Ryan produced under that banner was 2000's Lost Souls, a satanic possession horror movie starring Winona Ryder.

It was also the directorial debut of Janusz Kaminski, Steven Spielberg's cinematographer of choice since 1997. Though Lost Souls was shot in 1998, it was not released in the U.S. until October 2000 to avoid competing with other thriller and horror movies that came out at the end of 1999. Lost Souls was released in most other countries throughout 2001.

The delay in release didn't help the movie's earnings at all. After receiving awful reviews, the $31.4 million worldwide gross fell far short of its $50 million budget, which is a surprisingly large price tag for a horror movie. No wonder why Ryan got out of the production business so quickly.
