After the success of Good Will Hunting, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon formed the production company LivePlanet with film producers Chris Moore and Sean Bailey. The company produced the 2001 horror film Joy Ride as well as the television series Project Greenlight, which was dedicated to discovering first-time screenwriters.

The winning script of the third season of Project Greenlight was Feast, a gory horror movie about people trapped in a bar who have to fight off deadly monsters. Affleck and Damon served as executive producers, as did legendary horror director Wes Craven.

Though Feast grossed less than $700,000 worldwide, it was enough of a strong seller on DVD that two low-budget sequels, Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds (2008) and Feast 3: The Happy Finish (2009), were released direct-to-DVD. However, neither Affleck nor Damon were involved in the production of the sequels since they left LivePlanet at the end of 2007. They've mainly focused on producing their own projects ever since.
