10 Actors Tricked Into Doing Famous Movie Scenes

7. The Exorcist - Jason Miller Is Mislead About Vomit

In case you were wondering exactly how the team behind iconic horror feature The Exorcist managed to produce some of the most recognisable vomit in all of cinema (now there's an honour), it turns out the stream of sick which left the mouth of Linda Blair's possessed Regan MacNeil was made up of old pea soup.

So, it's fair to say that any actor wouldn't be in a rush to take a face full of this rotten green mess when tasked with performing in a scene involving a sudden bout of spewing. Luckily, Jason Miller, playing Father Damien Karras in the film, had been promised that any vomit directed at him during his scene opposite Blair would strictly land on his chest.

However, when it came time to shoot the now infamous moment, the artificial vomit splashed straight into his face, leaving Miller visually disgusted on-screen and very much p*ssed off once the cameras had stopped rolling.

This wasn't the only time Miller found himself stunned into an authentic looking reaction during the making of The Exorcist, though, as the actor had a gun fired near his ear by director William Friedkin in an attempt to inspire a legit-looking response. Miller again wasn't best pleased, telling the director that, as an actor, he didn't need to be shocked by a gun shot to act surprised.
