10 Actors Who Admit To Bombing Big Auditions

5. Chris Klein - Mamma Mia!

The movie: The Meryl Streep-led musical was based on the long-running Broadway show, which focuses on a young woman's search to find her real father before her wedding day. But really it's just an excuse to listen to ABBA songs.

The actor: Chris Klein got his acting career off to a pretty great start with Election and American Pie back-to-back. Since then he's sort of been relegated to the outskirts of Hollywood. He had his time in the spotlight but, sadly, will probably be best remembered for this audition. You can find it on YouTube if you have a strong enough stomach.

The audition: The whole thing is an unmitigated disaster. The fear in Klein's eyes during his off-key performance is a hard image to shake. But credit to him, he's owned up to the travesty.

"I took a chance — I can’t sing! I don’t know why I was in there. But I took a chance! It’s a musical — let’s see if I can give it a shot. And, you know, the way that they put it out there, it gets taken out of context and all that kind of thing. It was really a dreadful audition. Talk about a reason that I didn’t get a part, man! I mean [laughs], oh my God. What a terrible thing!"
