10 Actors Who Are Actually Brilliant Musicians

1. Michael J Fox

Michael J Fox's most famous role - Marty McFly, in Back To The Future - featured a couple of scenes where Fox appeared to have some pretty good guitar chops. Of course, given that this is the movies, it is hard to take anything seen on the screen as gospel. In the case of Fox though, there have been plenty of occasions where he's had the chance to show that he really can play a mean guitar.

Interesting behind the scenes footage reveals Fox being coached in some advanced metal shredding in prep for the audition scene in BTTF. Fox is clearly already a pretty good guitarist, as his Chuck Berry licks in Johnny B Goode on the same film demonstrates.

Fox has suffered with Parkinson's disease for many years, and has performed at numerous benefit shows in aid of research. Although badly impacted by the condition, he can still hold his own in footage showing him jamming on classics from the fifties and latter day rock'n'roll. Not only that, but he has a mouth-watering collection of vintage guitars that most guitarist can only dream of.
