When it comes to the superhero corner of the movie business, it'd be foolish to class any apparently deceased character as truly gone. Time and time again heroes that appeared to have been emphatically chopped down on the big-screen have found a way to wriggle back into a sequel or prequel in the wake of their heart-breaking end.

But in the case of Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, though, a resurrection does seem to be entirely off the table. Another resurrection, that is.

After already coming back from the dead during the events of Wonder Woman 1984, the Captain Kirk star would recently pretty much kill off any hopes of one more revival in any future DC entries, claiming to USA Today when nudged about a Wonder Woman 3 appearance, "I think poor Steve is dead, but I wish them all the best on the third one."

The fact Patty Jenkins' third Wonder Woman flick isn't moving forward now has also likely put an end to Pine's time as Diana Prince's lover, too, despite the fact Gal Gadot doesn't appear to have been officially booted from the role of the Amazon warrior.

But at least Pine's Kirk comeback appears to be very much on the horizon, eh.
