Never one to shy away from a bit of prosthetic or additional make-up work to fully realise a character on-screen, Kenneth Branagh has sported everything from gigantic moustaches to distinctive noses over the course of his eclectic career.

However, arguably his most immersive transformation to date comes in the form of his decision to get completely lost in the features of current British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for the upcoming Sky Atlantic series This Sceptred Isle. The show will centre around the first wave of the current global health crisis and how it specifically affected a newly elected Johnson and the U.K.

Just from the initial images released of Branagh in full BoJo get-up, you'd be forgiven for mistaking the Academy Award nominee for the man himself, with everything from Johnson's striking blonde locks to his bemused expression feeling about as authentic as humanly possible.

We may have to wait until autumn of 2022 to take in what promises to be an intriguing look at Johnson's life around this monumental time, but Branagh's evident commitment to the role will no doubt be worth the wait.
