6. Ben Mendelsohn - Cyrano
While the fact he was picking up an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award for Best Supporting Actor should've likely been the main focus at the time, a video Ben Mendelsohn recently recorded to accept said reward for his work in Babyteeth revealed a dramatic transformation that got the world talking very quickly.
The star of the likes of Captain Marvel and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was beaming in to accept the AACTA gong due to the fact that he was on location in Sicily shooting Joe Wright's incoming movie adaptation of stage musical Cyrano, a show itself adapted from the play Cyrano de Bergerac.
Peter Dinklage is set to star as the titular character, while Mendelsohn will be bringing De Guiche to life when the film finally drops in December. De Guiche is very much the villain of the piece, which likely goes some way to explaining the star's unexpected and near unrecognisable look, equipped with bald head and mischievous moustache, in the aforementioned acceptance speech.
When the words "villain" and "Mendelsohn" are thrown into the mix, you can all but guarantee some scene chewing goodness from the chameleonic thespian.
