10 Actors Who Are Unrecognisable In Upcoming Movies

8. Gwendoline Christie - Flux Gourmet

Thor Love and Thunder Gorr Christian Bale
IFC Films

Gwendoline Christie is of course best known for portraying the steely, statuesque Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, and also the ever-masked Captain Phasma in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

But Christie's set to disappear into character in a more low-key cinematic affair over the summer, when she stars in the latest horror film from Peter Strickland (Berberian Sound Studio, In Fabric), Flux Gourmet.

Christie plays the nefarious director of a mysterious artistic institute devoted to "culinary and alimentary performance" - whatever that means, exactly - and from the trailer it's made abundantly clear that she'll be rocking a number of chameleonic outfits throughout.

Whether kitted out in a red-white costume that splits the difference between jester and cheerleader, a fancy night gown for dinner, a Hunger Games-esque flowing red dress, or a white number that resembles a bunny rabbit, Christie is clearly going to be offering up looks like we've never seen before.

Given that Christie's most prominent roles to date have seen her sans-makeup and totally disguised respectively, this is quite the stylish, dynamic change-up for her.
