10 Actors Who Are Unrecognisable In Upcoming Movies
7. Helen Mirren - Golda
Later this year, Helen Mirren will star in a biopic of Israeli prime minister Golda Meir, and though the 76-year-old Mirren didn't need to be markedly aged-up to play the part, the single released image makes it clear she's undergone quite the transformation regardless.
Mirren has donned considerable facial prosthetics and grey-dyed hair to more closely resemble Meir's more conventionally aged appearance - rather than, you know, being glamorous actress Helen Mirren.
Much like Bradley Cooper, Mirren did receive some pushback for portraying a Jewish character despite not being Jewish herself, with Mirren accepting that her casting wouldn't please everyone, but insisting she took the part because director Guy Nattiv - himself an Israeli filmmaker - wanted her to.
Controversy aside, Mirren's typically impeccable hair, flawless makeup, and slender frame are nowhere to be seen as she attempts to become the so-called "Iron Lady" of Israeli politics.
