10 Actors Who Avoided Awful Movies Due To "Scheduling Conflicts"

5. Val Kilmer - Batman And Robin/The Saint

A mix of ‘scheduling conflicts’ and creative conflicts on this one. Kilmer claimed he was already committed to filming The Saint when the opportunity to reprise his role as Batman was around, but director Joel Schumacher said that Kilmer “sort of quit” and that he “sort of fired him”. Rumour was that Schumacher found Kilmer difficult on the set of Batman Forever, and opted for George Clooney in the role for the sequel instead.

Whether Kilmer was fired or genuinely had ‘scheduling conflicts’, he should probably count himself lucky considering this film is the laughing stock of the Batman franchise. 20 years after the release of the film, Clooney stated: "I thought at the time that this was going to be a very good career move. Um, it wasn't... No one had a good time."

Yikes.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
