10 Actors Who Begged For Their Horror Movie Character To Die

8. Michelle Trachtenberg - Black Christmas (2006)

Before the legend of Michael Myers catapulted the slasher genre to cinematic greatness, 1974’s Black Christmas set the ball rolling.

The influence it had on the genre can’t be overstated, and in a way it was inevitable that a remake would eventually be pumped out during the remake-frenzy of the early 2000’s. So in 2006, we got one.

Perhaps to be expected, it wasn’t very good – but it was a nice surprise to see the sister of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Michelle Trachtenberg. However, her being in the film hinted at the fate of her character.

After the success of Buffy, Trachtenberg fully intended to steer well clear of horror for fear of being typecast. The only condition she had when taking a more spook-orientated job was if she were “given the opportunity to die.”

However, upon casting her eye over the Black Christmas script, Trachtenberg was suitably chilled to the bone and couldn’t resist. It did mean her character Melissa was doomed from the get-go, but at least it was death by ice pick which was pretty… cool (sorry).
