Bringing this chameleon-like energy to Doom would mean that the producers could head in any direction that they wanted with him.

Oldman is capable of being an intimidating presence no matter how over the top or realistic the project is. His ability to play sillier characters with a villainous edge could work well for Doom if they decided to go in such a direction.
