10 Actors Who Could Play Scarecrow In Matt Reeves’ The Batman
1. Doug Jones
Doug Jones is an actor that many people know without ever seeing his face. He's one of the world's leading physical performers and is always cast in highly prosthetic-driven parts thanks to his unique body shape and phenomenal non-verbal language. He can generate compelling characters with nothing but his movements, and can switch to unsettling when the situation calls.
Seeing this unique performer in the part of Jonathan Crane would be fascinating, as he would appear frightening before he'd even donned the classic Scarecrow get-up. But once he did, he would be completely at home there and would be able to make his Scarecrow nuanced and dynamic even if his costume covered him from head to toe.
Jones' tall and lanky frame is unmatched by any other actor, and his uncanny look would make him instantly unsettling. Simply put, the man's body is easily the most appropriate for a towering and horrifying figure, as he would convincingly appear like some of the comics more frightening depictions of the infamous villain.
He is also an underrated emotional actor, as his expressive face and soft-spoken voice are easily unnerving. This choice could easily make Scarecrow one of the scariest villains ever seen in a Batman title.
