10 Actors Who Could Play Scarecrow In Matt Reeves’ The Batman
5. Ed Harris
From one Westworld actor to another. Ed Harris is a fantastically decorated performer, which would lend a lot of favour for the role. Bringing in a star like him would instantly make Scarecrow feel important.
Harris has played a fair few villains in his time, in titles such as Snowpiercer, Enemy at the Gates, The Rock and the previously mentioned Westworld. While all of those characters have been morally bankrupt, the part of Scarecrow would be an entirely new venture for him, thanks to Crane's overt horror.
A significant aspect of the role that Harris could deliver on is a sense of control. His stoic nature and talent for intimidation would make this performance reserved yet unsettling. He could turn Jonathan Crane into an absolutely fear-inducing figure, thanks to his icy-cold stare and lack of emotion.
Harris is a little older, sitting at 70 years old right now, but this could bring a lot of gravitas to the character's presentation, and it's not like age was an issue in any of his recent performances. Like Tobin Bell, his more experienced energy could be a unique selling point for the villain.
