10 Actors Who Could Play Scarecrow In Matt Reeves’ The Batman

Right now, Owen Teague's star is rising quickly, as he has made a litany of memorable appearances in some well-known projects such as IT, Bloodline and The Stand. In the latter, he really showed off his skills as a twisted and deranged character, making his performance as Harold equal parts pathetic and downright terrifying.

One thing that this actor is excellent at is nuance. He plays all of his roles with complete commitment and manages to instil plenty of quirks that make his characters believable, no matter how over-the-top they might be. This would work incredibly well for The Batman - especially in the style that Reeves seems to be going for - as he would be authentic, whilst still being entertaining.

Although he might appear a little too young for the part, his age could be a fascinating direction for the character. Seeing Crane attain his doctorate at a younger age could highlight his intellectual brilliance, and the decay of his morality and sanity would be even more tragic if it were happening to a younger-looking man. While Scarecrow's youthful presentation in Gotham didn't make such an idea work too well, another shot at it could prove beneficial.
