Some of the best casting choices are the ones which have happened when studios have dared think outside of the box. Case in point, Adam Driver doesn't quite meet all of the requirements for the traditional Superman, but the same could have been said about Heath Ledger and the Joker.

The Star Wars actor isn't far away from the right physical attributes, or at least he wouldn't be if he put in some serious work at the gym, but it's his acting abilities that make him an interesting pick for the role.

Driver could bring serious depth to Superman and highlight the often-overlooked tragic aspects of the character. Supes is an alien whose people were brought to the brink of extinction when their home planet exploded, but the sense of isolation that brings is rarely explored in detail in the movies.

When he isn't playing Kylo Ren, Driver is quirky and charming, qualities that would serve him well as Clark Kent, but he could work as a subversive Superman too.
