Championing diversity is of paramount importance and casting a black actor in a role as iconic as Superman would be a bold statement from DC and Warner Bros.
It would be controversial in the eyes of some, but an actor like Michael B Jordan is more than capable of playing the Man of Steel. He exudes the necessary confidence and lightheartedness in almost every role he tackles.
Jordan also seems to love appearing in superhero movies, with previous outings in Chronicle, Fantastic Four and Black Panther. There's no reason why he can't become one of the few actors to cross the Marvel-DC divide on screen (the state of the FF reboot was by no means his fault).
DC has published comics featuring black Supermen over the years, such as Calvin Ellis and Earth-2's Val-Zod, so it would be interesting to see one of them in the DCEU with a talented actor like Jordan in the lead role, but seeing him play a reimagined version of Clark Kent would be even more impactful and progressive.
