10 Actors Who Criticised Their Own Recent Movie Roles
7. Judi Dench As Old Deuteronomy - Cats
When it comes to movies, there will always be differences in opinion. The world would be boring if everyone was the same, as it would be if no-one ever disagreed. The same theory applies in Hollywood.
However, there are some things that bring just about everybody together, and you could argue that the closest you can get to a universal opinion on a movie in recent years is that nobody enjoyed Cats. Tom Hooper's effort is one of the most infamous flops in decades, and unsurprisingly cleaned up at the Razzies!
Even the stars of the show struggled to defend it. James Corden never even saw it after reading the reviews, and although she was thought to have been the best part of the whole thing, Judi Dench was simply appalled with how she looked on the screen.
The actor, who played Old Deuteronomy, told Vogue that she expected to look elegant, but ended up looking like a "battered, mangy old cat", and a "great big orange bruiser".
The CGI in the movie, and the bizarre human/cat hybrid aesthetic was impossible to ignore, even for Dame Judi.
