10 Actors Who Desperately Need Their Own Netflix Movie

2. Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is a prodigiously talented actor who, despite being one of the most successful A-listers of the 1990s, basically churns out five straight-to-video trash-fires for every good movie he makes nowadays.

The Oscar-winning actor at least entertains his loyal cult of fans with typically zany, off-the-wall performances in even his worst projects, but given how great he can be, it's a shame he squanders his talent on so much worthless schlock.

Can you imagine how awesome it'd be if Cage ended up with a bespoke, tailor-made Netflix Original project, pairing him with a successful writer-director team? With the right creative minds, Cage could end up with his own action franchise, even his own John Wick, if you like.

In the very least, it wouldn't be worse than the glut of barrel-scraping slop he largely releases to truck-stop bargain bins the world over these days.

How Likely Is It?: Cage has been vocal about his refusal to appear on TV shows, recently declaring in an interview, "I can’t do TV, I’m an effing movie star." Hmmm.

While a Netflix Original obviously wouldn't be TV, it might be too close to it for Cage's comfort level, because even though most of his movies now go straight-to-VOD anyway, they still end up on home video and often get a minor theatrical release.

A Nic Cage Netflix movie would go to streaming and nothing else, so it's easy to imagine his clear ego balking at that. It'd be a super neat way for Cage to move with the times, but honestly, it seems pretty unlikely. 2/10
