8. Bryan Cranston Thought Killing His Character Early Was "A Waste" - Godzilla

Hot on the heels of arguably becoming the most talked about thespian plying his trade on the small screen during his mesmerising stint as Walter White in Breaking Bad, news of Bryan Cranston stepping into the burgeoning MonsterVerse felt like the sort of move that would instantly add some credibility to the incoming 2014 Godzilla flick.

However, those expecting to see Cranston lead the fight alongside the monstrous Kaiju throughout were ultimately left to swallow the unwanted pill of his Joe Brody biting the dust half-way through the feature. And Cranston himself wasn't exactly shy about not being a fan of the fact his supposed leading figure was dispatched in such a wasteful fashion.

As the multiple time Emmy winner would confess to IndieWire:

"They kind of dealt with it poorly, that’s my only criticism of it because I think it was a fun movie, it was a very successful movie. I told them that even if I wasn’t doing this role, that character shouldn’t die at that point. It’s just bad narrative, but they were too far down the road."

And while the film in general was pretty well received and was successful enough to spawn a number of follow-ups, few would argue with Cranston's claims of his early demise being little more than "a waste".
