9. Melina Kotselou - My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 was an utter slop-bucket "comedy" sequel released this past summer - a film cynically curled out with all the perfunctoriness of somebody filling out a tax return at the last minute.
Nobody looks like they actually want to be in front of the camera in this movie, with one notable exception - actress Melina Kotselou, who portrays Victory, the non-binary mayor of the Greek town of Vrisi which Toula (Nia Vardalos) and company descend upon.
Amid a disinterested ensemble cast and lifeless script, it's Kotselou's vibrant, energetic performance which proves to be the single charming, funny part of the entire film.
She's the only performer who seemed to understand the assignment, or in the very least attempted to produce something entertaining from admittedly atrocious material.
It's all the more impressive given that this is Kotselou's first ever role in a feature film, and yet she utterly outclassed a huge cast of veteran actors. Hopefully this won't be the last we see of her on-screen.
