2. Kristen Stewart - Snow White & The Huntsman

Kristen Stewart starred as Snow White in the 2012 blockbuster Snow White and the Huntsman, which was mounted as the first in a prospective series of Snow White-starring fantasy-action films.

Despite mixed reviews, the first film was a solid box office success, leading to a sequel quickly being greenlit. But after Stewart and director Rupert Sanders were photographed having an affair, the decision was made to cancel the sequel and morph it into a spin-off focused on Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman.

And so, prequel-sequel The Huntsman: Winter's War was eventually released in 2016, with the character of Snow White only appearing briefly in cameo form from behind, a part Stewart was offered but turned down.

Of having her lead role axed, Stewart recently said, "We lived in a different time then, you know what I mean? I feel like the slut-shaming that went down was so absurd...And they should’ve put me in that movie! It would’ve been better. Not to be a dick, but…They didn’t put me in that movie because I went through such a highly publicized scandal, and so they were like scared of touching that."

Stewart may well have been right, given that Winter's War was pilloried by critics and flopped at the box office, grossing barely one-third of what Snow White and the Huntsman did.
