10 Actors Who Got Paid To NOT Star In Movies

Scary Movie 2 is known for having quite a few big-name actors starring alongside Anna Faris and the Wayans brothers such as James Woods, David Cross and Tim Curry. However, one of the actors who had a planned cameo yet unfortunately couldn’t star in the movie was Hollywood legend Marlon Brando.

Originally, Brando was to star as Father McFeely, one of the exorcists in the opening parody. However, when it came time to start filming, Brando could had to drop out of the project due to health issues and was paid 2 million dollars for the one day that he was on set.

Undeterred, the Wayans brothers got James Woods to take Brando’s place instead, and Woods would end up adding a lot of memorable comedy to such a small role.

Reportedly, Brando was really struggling on that day. He couldn’t remember his lines for the role because of his age and, due to the fact he was suffering from pneumonia at the time, whenever filming stopped he had to wear an oxygen mask, so the Wayans let him go.

In a strange way, things turned out for the better because of Woods’ involvement, as to see such a legendary actor in such a frail condition would have been highly distressing.
