Essentially an absent-presence since the late 90s, Christian Slater had one of the most unexpected career revivals in recent memory.

Slater was a late 80s-early 90s poster boy as a teenage heartthrob, perhaps the most iconic being his role in the cult classic Heathers back in 1988.

He seemingly disappeared completely once the calendar ticked over into the new millennium, continuing to act but in small roles or cameos in very underseen or critically unsuccessful movies and TV shows.

That was, of course, until the hit that was Mr. Robot, which begun in 2015. The show highlighted Slater’s talents in a completely new light, with the acting by co-star Rami Malek and himself heralded as the glue of the show.

Slater won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series in 2016, and was nominated for his work in seasons two and three of the show in 2017 and 2018.
