9. Crispin Glover Hated Back To The Future's Ending

Back to the Future memorably concludes with Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) successfully ensuring his parents George (Crispin Glover) and Lorraine (Lea Thompson) get together, in turn guaranteeing that he himself is eventually conceived.

Marty then returns to his altered present of 1985 to see that George is now a wealthy author and a more assertive, confident person, while Lorraine is happy and healthy, his siblings are successful business owners, and historic douchebag Biff (Thomas F. Wilson) is a lowly auto valet.

As great an ending as it is, not all of the film's cast were totally on-board with it, with Crispin Glover confirming in recent years that he bristled with writer-director Robert Zemeckis over the scene.

Glover said, "It had to do with money, and what the characters were doing with money...I said to Robert Zemeckis I thought it was not a good idea for our characters to have a monetary reward, because it basically makes the moral of the film that money equals happiness. The love should be the reward."

Zemeckis apparently "got really mad" at Glover for this, and it's widely speculated this is one of several reasons why Glover was given a low-ball offer to return for the sequel, resulting in Glover declining to return, his part eventually being re-cast and Glover filing a successful likeness rights lawsuit.
