10 Actors Who Hated Scenes From Their Own Movies

8. Ellen Page Hated Juno's Homophobic One-Liner

Juno was in many ways the film that put Ellen Page on the map: she scooped a Best Actress nomination for her performance, and over a decade later, it's still very much her signature role.

But in recent times Page has provided a more bittersweet assessment of the movie, if only due to a scene where her pregnant protagonist makes a homophobic remark while discussing baby names with Mark (Jason Bateman), the potential adoptive father of her baby.

Mark mentions that his wife (Jennifer Garner) likes the name "Madison," to which Juno replies, "Isn't that a little, gay?"

In a retrospective interview, Page, who came out as gay in 2014, said, "It wasn’t something I totally registered at the time, but, of course, now that I’m older I do. So many movies I loved as a kid are just rampant with homophobia and transphobia and biphobia, and I’m not excusing it by any means."

Given that the film's single Oscar win was for Best Original Screenplay of all things, it's pretty unfortunate.
