10 Actors Who HATED Their Roles In Famous Movies

9. Matt Damon - The Bourne Ultimatum

The Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield
Universal Pictures

When you consider the quality of the film in question, it comes as quite the surprise that Matt Damon took against The Bourne Ultimatum.

The star hated the script, calling it a "career-ender" for screenwriter Tony Gilroy. Damon didn't blame Gilroy himself, but instead commented on the studio desperation for final act in the trilogy leading to them offering Gilroy a huge paycheck for just one draft of the screenplay. The first draft became the final draft and Damon was left with a script that he referred to as "unreadable".

Damon later further clarified that he did respect Gilroy and and that he was most aggrieved by the writer's talent not being put to use by the studio. Gilroy continued to work on the franchise succesfully, going on to direct the series' fourth film, The Bourne Legacy.
