10 Actors Who Hated Working Together
1. Tony Curtis & Marilyn Monroe - Some Like It Hot
Billy Wilder's legendary 1959 rom-com Some Like It Hot boasts indelible, iconic performances from Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon, though the former two actors sadly got on as swimmingly as oil and water.
Monroe, who was in the throes of drug addiction and mental health issues at the time, did not endear herself to the cast and crew by being late to set and, according to Curtis, required up to 50 takes to perform a single line.
Curtis later infamously claimed that kissing Monroe for the film was like "kissing Hitler," and that "she nearly choked me to death by deliberately sticking her tongue down my throat into my windpipe."
Curtis also suggested that the actress tried to play himself and Jack Lemmon against one another during production. Needless to say, there was no love lost between Curtis and Monroe, who were on-off lovers prior to the movie's production.
