10 Actors Who Haven't Given A Good Movie Performance In Over A Decade

7. Dennis Quaid

Dennis Quaid is a strange one in that he€™s always appeared in films of middling quality. He€™s never actively bad in them, but he€™s not always overtly good, either He€™s just kind of€ there. Every so often, though, he€™d find the right role and remind you what a damn good actor he can be. Think Traffic (2000), Todd Hayne€™s masterful, gorgeous Far From Heaven (2002), or Oliver Stone€™s Any Given Sunday (1998), which sees Quaid excel as ageing Quarterback Jack €˜Cap€™ Rooney. No such luck lately though, and in fact Quaid€™s last good role was that of Hayne€™s aforementioned near-masterpiece. Since then it€™s been uninspired remakes (Flight Of The Phoenix, 2004), inanimate thrillers (Vantage Point, 2008), and formulaic genre pictures (What To Expect When You€™re Expecting, 2012). With nothing promising forthcoming on his filmography either, Dennis Quaid is in desperate need of a project in the vein of Traffic, Heaven or Sunday. Until then, he€™ll continue to meander in the wilderness he€™s been lost in for a while.
