10 Actors Who Haven't Given A Good Movie Performance In Over A Decade

3. Dominic West

Best known for playing McNulty in The Wire, Dominic West has always been a prolific and great television actor, whether it be in David Simon€™s Greatest-of-All-Time crime series or in smaller works like Appropriate Adult (2011), in which he took on the challenging role of British serial killer Fred West, or the TV movie Burton And Taylor (2013), which saw him star as iconic actor Richard Burton alongside Helena Bonham Carter's Elizabeth Taylor. He€™s never been quite as successful in cinema though, and it can be argued that he doesn€™t actually have anything even close to major on his film CV. There€™s the odd nice little turn (Pride, 2014), and a few bit parts in big budget fare like 300 (2006) or the disastrous John Carter (2012), but mostly it is uninspired work. Here€™s hoping the forthcoming Genius, in which West plays writer Ernest Hemingway, can kick-start his cinematic career.
