10 Actors Who Just Aren't Trying Hard Enough

7. Michael Madsen

Career High: Reservoir Dogs Career Low: Piranhaconda How could the hardest working actor in the history of Hollywood not be trying hard enough? Well, he apparently has absolutely no discerning eye to pick out the wheat from the chaff, saying yes to every single project that comes his way. He has so far had 12 films released this year, and a further 6 of the 14 films he is involved with that are yet to be released are slated to supposedly come out in the last two months of the year. This despite being one of the best parts of Reservoir Dogs, and offering probably the most human role in Kill Bill. In all honesty those roles were probably just blips in an otherwise spectacularly unspectacular career, because a cursory glance through his other films - and it takes a long time - reveals very few memorable performances. And it says a lot when one of the only good ones found is Free Willy. You just have to think that there's more to life than this sort of career - bouncing from poor film to poor film, with extremely limited chance of anyone seeing any of your work. Or is that too much of a romantic view of Hollywood?
