10 Actors Who Just Disappeared From Movies

3. Aubrey Plaza - Spin Me Round

BABY DRIVER
IFC Films

The recently released romantic comedy-thriller Spin Me Round is one of the most disarming and unexpected films of the year, revolving around a restaurant manager, Amber (Alison Brie), who wins an expenses-paid trip to her company's managerial conference in Italy.

There she quickly falls for the chain's handsome, charming owner Nick Martucci (Alessandro Nivola), but is also allured by the presence of Nick's shady-yet-gorgeous assistant Kat (Aubrey Plaza).

Aubrey Plaza gets second billing behind only Alison Brie, yet ends up suddenly and permanently disappearing from the story barely half-way through the runtime.

After sharing a romantic moment with Amber, the next morning we see Kat driving off with Susie (Debby Ryan), another member of the conference, and she never reappears.

Though Kat's absence is mentioned numerous times throughout the second half of the film, enough that we as audience members are confident she'll eventually return, it shockingly never happens.

Plaza is gone by the hour mark and stays gone, but in a film that spends so much time subverting audience expectations, that's probably fitting. It's a shame her role ends without any closure whatsoever, though. Such is life.
