10 Actors Who Just Quit HUGE Movies
9. Andrew Garfield - Dr. Frankenstein
Guillermo del Toro's long-gestating Netflix-produced adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein sounds like as perfect a match between artist and material as there has ever been, and so the project has unsurprisingly attracted a bevy of A-list talent.
This initially included Andrew Garfield, who was set to star as Frankenstein's monster, yet at the start of 2024 - literally mere weeks before shooting began - it was announced that Garfield was forced to depart due to more strike-induced scheduling issues.
It's certainly a blow for fans of the pair who were eager to see them work together - not to mention Garfield starring opposite Oscar Isaac, who will play Dr. Frankenstein - but it didn't take long for his replacement to be announced.
Priscilla and Saltburn star Jacob Elordi was recently confirmed to be subbing in for Garfield, and given the enticing projects the on-the-rise Australian actor has been showing up in lately, it's easy to believe he'll deliver a performance worthy of the original casting.
