10 Actors Who Lost Roles Because They Got Greedy

8. Bruce Willis - Expendables 3

The Expendables franchise is famous for boasting a huge cast of top action stars shooting things and blowing up buildings, but Bruce Willis' salary demands meant Expendables 3 had to be one action guy short.

The story goes that the studio was willing to pay Willis a whopping $3 million for only four days of work, and yet Willis was so adamant for more that he ended up missing out entirely for refusing to budge from his demand of $4 million.

$3 million for only four days work sounds like absolute daylight robbery, but Willis wasn't having any of it. And ultimately, neither was Sylvester Stallone, who fired Willis and replaced him with Harrison Ford in only three days.

Stallone didn't hold back, tweeting out: "WILLIS OUT . . . HARRISON FORD IN!!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!... GREEDY AND LAZY . . . A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE."

While career failure isn't a word anyone would use to describe Willis following his departure from Expendables 3, Stallone sure didn't mince words when it came to his opinions on salary grabbers. Probably would have been better for Willis to just take the $3 million and tough it out.
