10 Actors Who Made A Terrible Movie Right After Winning An Oscar

5. Forest Whitaker - The Air I Breathe (2007)

Won An Oscar For: The Last King Of Scotland (2006) If you've seen The Last King Of Scotland, chances are that your memories surrounding the film are dominated by images of Forest Whitaker as African dictator Idi Amin. Charismatic, terrifying and unforgettable, it was no surprise when Whitaker took home the statuette. It's a shame, then, that the motion picture Whitaker had the displeasure of being a part of after he nabbed his Academy Award was so dire. The obscure film in question, The Air I Breathe, was helmed by Korean-American director Jieho Lee, and made use of an ensemble cast which included Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy and Brendan Fraser (uh-oh). The film's gimmicky premise, which painted each character as one of the four cornerstones of emotion as written in a Chinese proverb, proved to be its undoing. As "Happiness," Whitaker feels like an unnatural fit for the story - you know something's gone wrong when Sarah Michelle Gellar upstages an Academy Award winner. And that totally happened.
